Everything MAGAs do is Evil
Its time we admitted the truth because anything less is a failure of imagination
I know that being hyperbolic is a fool’s errand. I know that “only the Sith deals in absolutes” is grossly overstated. But when you’re faced with a person who treats you as an enemy because you are not with them fully, what else is there to say?
What else is there to do?
I got an Instagram message from one of my oldest friends the other day. It said:
Love you, dude. I hope you are doing well.
Yeah, that’s what he says now. But I know he doesn’t really mean it because my old friend is a MAGA.
Before this message, about 2 years ago, I had to block him from my Facebook feed. I had to do that because he had become rude, insulting and abusive. I tried to calmly and rationally talk to him, I asked him to “tone it down” but it was no use.
I told him that immigrants only commit a small fraction of the crimes in this country, only a fraction of what citizens commit.
He told me one crime is too many.
I told him that women with a pregnancy complication or a miscarriage are dying from sepsis and blood loss because they can no longer get treatment in certain states.
He told me “abortion is murder”, and you “pay the price for your actions.” (By which he meant having sex — even if that sex was non-consensual)
Only a Sith deals in absolutes, and I can’t have that as part of my life anymore.
So I have to ask the question, “Am I the asshole for letting ‘politics’ get in the way of our friendship?”
Maybe. Possibly.
But then this isn’t just about “Politics.” It’s not a matter of politics for an immigrant facing masked undercover ICE agents without a warrant grabbing them, and shoving them into the back of an unmarked sedan. That’s not how it is for someone on a student Visa who wrote an Op-ed critical of Netanyahu and his ethnic cleansing and genocide (yes, I’m using the word) against Gaza. It’s not the case for the landscape worker with three sons in the U.S. Marines after he’s had his shoulder separated by ICE agents as they apprehend him. It’s not the case for Asylum seekers, or Citizenship candidates who show up for their immigration hearings and are instantly taken into custody.
Is any of this just “Politics” for the almost 200 migrants who had no criminal record who were shipped off to an El Salvadoran death camp?
Most of these people are not “criminals”, but to the absolutists it doesn’t matter. They aren’t citizens. They aren’t here the “right way” [even though a lot of them actually are].
Entering the country without proper papers is a crime and “One crime is too many.”
According to my former friend, nothing I claim or argue with is valid because my “sources” are all — somehow — tainted. They’re all biased. Every single one of them. None of them can be trusted. It doesn’t matter if you can see it with your own eyes in a photo or on film, it doesn’t matter if it’s an accredited media organization that has been vetted and confirmed, it doesn’t matter if it’s based on evidence and testimony that has been provided in court, or to congress, none of it can be trusted. He considers every bit of it to be a manipulated part of some master agenda by unseen powerful forces to fool the public.
[Yeah, and it’s not like the Murdochs, Mercers, Kochs, Adelsons and the Wilks don’t have an agenda to keep taxes low and fossil fuels flowing behind all the media entities they own from Fox to Breitbart, Heritage and Daily Wire]
Arguing is pointless. Logic is pointless. Facts are worthless. I know, I tried to use them all.
Some of them believe they’re doing the “right thing.” They think they’re the “good guys” fighting back against the “Evil Hordes of Leftist, Muslims, Marxist and Socialists.” They think their cause is “just and righteous.”
They think they’re “Making America Great Again?” Like it was when? During Jim Crow? During Segregation? During Convict Leasing? Reconstruction? Slavery? When we had the Chinese Exclusion Act? When we had Operation Wetback? When we had Japanese Citizens Interned? When exactly were we “Great?”
We know these cartoon caricatures of us are wrong. We know that it’s just a rationalization to dehumanize and deligitimize our opposition. It’s a justification to treat us as subhuman. Once you’ve done that, who needs "due process of law” right? Once you’ve been painted as a “Commie”,”Radical” and “Criminal” what other question needs to be asked? What needs to be proven?
“Lock ‘em up!”
It would be wrong to respond by exaggerating and grossly overstating their position as well — but these are not overstatements, this is exactly who they are. They are trying to reimplement segregation, they are trying to reimplement a new “Jim Crow”, they are trying to implement the mass disappearance and Ethnic Cleansing of this nation. This is not hyperbole, it is exactly what they’re doing.
They thought, despite every scrap of real evidence, that the 2020 election was somehow “Stolen.” They were absolutely convinced of it.
They were wrong.
Something they can’t explain was wrong with mail-in ballots [but only in Blue Cities with mostly a Black population]. I mean, the fact that they have to be signed, and the signature has to match the one on the voter’s registration card doesn’t seem to matter. The fact that if someone else drops off a ballot they have to be an immediate family member and they have to sign it too — and that signature also has to match — doesn’t seem to matter to them. Some states also require a driver’s license number and/or the last 4 digits of the voter’s social security number written printed on the ballot envelope.
This fact was a major factor in the lawsuit against “2000 Mules” which claimed that one of the people dropping off ballots on camera was a “mule” delivering fake ballots. He proved otherwise, because he and they had signed them all.
ATLANTA — The creator of the widely debunked film "2000 Mules" has issued a statement saying "inaccurate information" was provided to him about ballot box surveillance videos featured in the film and apologizing to a Georgia man in one of those videos who was falsely accused of ballot fraud during the 2020 election.
Filmmaker and conservative pundit Dinesh D'Souza said in the statement that the film and the book of the same name were based on cellphone geolocation data collected by True the Vote. The Texas-based nonprofit also provided him with drop box surveillance footage and D'Souza said his team had been "assured that the surveillance videos had been linked to geolocation cell phone data, such that each video depicted an individual who had made at least 10 visits to drop boxes."
Gwinnett County resident Mark Andrews is seen in one of the videos, his face blurred, putting five ballots in a drop box in Lawrenceville, an Atlanta suburb, as D'Souza says: "What you are seeing is a crime. These are fraudulent votes."
A state investigation found that Andrews was dropping off ballots for himself, his wife and their three adult children, who all lived at the same address. That is legal in Georgia, and an investigator said there was no evidence of wrongdoing by Andrews.
But no, those ballots are suspect. The fact that it takes so long to count those ballots [because State law prohibits counting them early, and verifying all those signatures takes time] is suspect.
“Yeah, but the count was one way when I went to sleep, then it was different when I woke up.”
On the basis of that, thousands of people showed up in Washington DC when Trump called them, and after he sent them there — they attacked to Capitol precisely when the electoral vote was being counted.
Five of them died. [Not just Ashli Babbit, FIVE!] Four police officers died, three from suicide and one from two strokes due to the stress and violence of the incident. 140 Police officers were injured, many of whom with career-ending injuries. Michael Fenone suffered a heart attack and was tazed into unconsciousness. Officer Caroline Edwards suffered a concussion when she was knocked back as the crowd attacked her with baricades and her head was smashed against the concrete. Sargent Aquilino Gonel fought with about 40 people for over six hours. All of them have had to retire because of their injuries.
But even today, to the MAGAs, all of this was a “False Flag.”
Somehow, the FBI “planted informants” in the crowd who were “outside agitators” that somehow got so many people to commit federal crimes. To fight with police officers. To smash in the windows of the Capitol, invade the building, commandier the Senate and try to attack members of the House.
To this day, they still blame it all on the mysterious “Ray Epps” who allegedly whispered something to the first guy to approach the barricades [where he knocked Officer Edwards unconscious]. Except that that guy, Ryan Samsel testified that Epps told him not to attack the police.
According to the video presented at trial, Samsel can be seen speaking briefly with Ray Epps, a former Marine at the center of conservative conspiracy theories — mainly pushed by former Fox News host Tucker Carlson — claiming he was a government agent responsible for instigating the violence that day.
Both Epps and Samsel have denied claims that Epps sought to spur violence at the Peace Circle, asserting that he urged Samsel not to attack the police line.
But the guy Epps talked to saying that he specifically didn’t egg him on to attack the police is not good enough for the MAGAs.
They don’t believe it. They refuse to believe it. They think it’s a lie. It’s court testimony where lying is perjury — but they still believe it’s “a lie.”
They think the MEDIA has manipulated the truth. They saw it with their own eyes. They all saw the video of Epps whispering to Samsel, so what else needs to be said?
They all also saw the video of Atlanta pollworkers pulling a ballot box from under the table. Obviously, this was some kind of crime. Obviously, that was a box filled with planted Biden ballots. Obviously, this was fraud.
And they don’t care that Rudy Guiliani who made all these bogus claims lost a $148 milion defamation suit over it.
Rudy Giuliani has lost his bid to dismiss the $148 million defamation judgment against him from late last year. The judgment was won by former Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Wandrea "Shaye" Moss.
[...]
The mother and daughter were accused by Giuliani of committing election fraud while the two were counting ballots in Georgia's Fulton County on Election Day in 2020.
Obviously, the court was biased. It’s not like Giuliani should have been able to prove his argument if he had the evidence for it, right?
It’s just like E. Jean Carroll who obviously “Lied to the court” somehow and managed to get 12 jurors to unanimously vote that Donald Trump committed sexual assault.
It’s just like Stormy Daniels who batted her eyes at the biased New York jury and got them to unanimously convict Trump of 34 felonies for fraud.
None of this matters. They still voted for this fucking lying convict anyway.
They see people yanked off the street and sent to a death camp without due process, they see women bleeding out in parking lots, they see 300,000 kids dying of starvation and preventable disease all over the world — all because of Trump.
They’re divesting in Planned Parenthood. They using intimidation tactics against legal firms and universities to implement ideological orthodoxy. They’ve censored and banned books by LGBTQ and Black authors, censored and removed documents related to the Tuskegee Airmen, Jackie Robinson, Sojonor Truth, Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad, Black Wall Street, the Tuskegee Experiment and Juneteenth under the bogus argument that it’s all “DEI” but still they claim “None of this is Racial.”
Threatening and arresting judges and lawmakers is crossing a bridge that is much too far. It’s breaks down the function of our co-equal branches of government, but then again — that’s exactly what they want. A King, not a functioning Democratic Republic.
Cutting 10 million people off Medicaid in order to cover up granting $Trillions in tax cuts to the richest people in the world — who don’t need any tax cuts at all — is ridiculous and mendacious. These cuts are the exact source of our budget deficit, this is the exact source of our national debt, and it’s deliberately punishing people for being poor. With these cuts, the deficit will continue to soar, the rich will get more money that they don’t need and the poor will suffer and die from preventable ailments that could have been avoided.
Cutting off children born here from becoming citizens — is also punishing them for the actions of their parents. It’s wrong.
This is Totalitarian Fascism. Read “Animal Farm”, “Farenheight 451” or “1984.” This is Evil.
The worst offense for my friend was apparently “Russia-gate.” He was too upset over it, too angry to discuss it, so I never got specifics. He wouldn’t discuss the issue. From what I could tell he was upset at the media for “pushing the hoax” that Trump was helped by Russia in the 2016 election.
The problem of course, is that narrative is absolutely true. It was proven by a Bipartisan Senate Report that went into the details of the Russian Influence operation and exactly how many Americans (44 million) were exposed to their fake accounts and bots pushing their anti-Hillary and pro-Trump agenda.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump campaign’s interactions with Russian intelligence services during the 2016 presidential election posed a “grave” counterintelligence threat, a Senate panel concluded Tuesday as it detailed how associates of Donald Trump had regular contact with Russians and expected to benefit from the Kremlin’s help.
The nearly 1,000-page report, the fifth and final one from the Republican-led Senate intelligence committee on the Russia investigation, details how Russia launched an aggressive effort to interfere in the election on Trump’s behalf. It says the Trump campaign chairman had regular contact with a Russian intelligence officer and says other Trump associates were eager to exploit the Kremlin’s aid, particularly by maximizing the impact of the disclosure of Democratic emails hacked by Russian intelligence officers.
The report is the culmination of a bipartisan probe that produced what the committee called “the most comprehensive description to date of Russia’s activities and the threat they posed.” The investigation spanned more than three years as the panel’s leaders said they wanted to thoroughly document the unprecedented attack on U.S. elections.
The Russians were trying to get Black, swing and Bernie voters to stay home or else issue a pointless protest vote for Jill Stein.
If that influenced only affected 0.5% of the people they reached in the voting public, that would be several times the difference between the vote counts in the three key swing states that Hillary lost. And Jill Stein’s final total vote in those states was higher than the difference between Trump and Clinton, and several times greater than her vote totals previously or after that election — just like the Russians wanted. Funny how that worked out exactly that way. So that’s food for thought.
Robert Mueller indicted 25 Russians for the hacking and influence operations. He also indicted and convicted 8 associates of Trump. 5 of them were convicted for lying under oath about being in contact with Russia during the campaign. Those liars — Stone, Manafort, Flynn, Cohen & Papadopoulos — prevented Mueller from building a case indicting Trump for being part of a conspiracy to collude with Russia, but he did include 10 counts of Obstruction of Justice by Trump in his report.
The problem was that Bill Barr lied about his report, dropped the case against the Russians, dropped the obstruction charges and then Trump pardoned all the liars for keeping quiet.
Then later, we discovered that Right-wing pundits were being paid $100,000 per episode by Russia Today. But sure, Russia isn’t an “influence” anywhere.
And we wonder why Trump can’t seem to get any traction in the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. They establish a cease-fire that Russia immediately violates and he just shrugs. He berates Zelensky to his face in the Oval office but can’t find a single word of protest for Putin’s actions. Hmph, I wonder why that is?
According to Giulianni’s right-hand man in Ukraine, Lev Parnas, Trump — even with his recent attack on Iran — is taking orders from Putin.
On Thursday, Parnas wrote a piece called Trump’s War on Truth Explodes — Nuclear Lies, Media Attacks, FBI Abuse, in which he argues, "This week will go down in history — not just for what happened, but for how hard they’re trying to rewrite it."
"And today, it only unraveled more. As I’ve been telling you, what we’re watching isn’t just an international crisis. It’s a coordinated disinformation campaign, a national security threat, and a blatant assault on democracy, all unfolding in real time," he wrote.
He then noted that Pete Hegseth and Karoline Leavitt tried to "change the narrative" on the Iran strikes, saying that Trump's military attack "completely obliterated" the country's nuclear program.
"But it’s a lie. And they know it," the ex-insider said. "Instead of admitting what really happened, they’re now launching an FBI investigation — not into Trump’s actions, not into the strike that violated international norms — but into the truth-teller who exposed it. That’s right. The leaker who revealed that Iran’s nuclear infrastructure is still intact is now being targeted by federal agents."
Parnas added that the media is "chasing noise," before doubling down on his reports about Trump's plans to stonewall Congress.
"My sources now confirm that Trump’s team plans to stonewall Congress. In today’s Senate briefing, officials gave only selective, cherry-picked info. Even Lindsey Graham, one of Trump’s staunchest defenders, came out afterward and said it plainly: 'We still don’t know where the 900 pounds of uranium are,'" he wrote Thursday. "Let that sink in."
According to Parnas, this is all "about how dictators stay in power — by rewriting history."
"Trump started it with the 2020 election lie, saying it was stolen. He repeated it so much that tens of millions still believe it. Now he’s applying that same blueprint to foreign policy. He’s lying about the Iran strike. He’s lying about nuclear weapons. He’s even lying about our allies and enemies," Parnas wrote. "Meanwhile, Iran is canceling inspections. They’re cutting off access to international nuclear monitors. That means they can now develop a nuclear weapon without oversight — and Trump is letting it happen."
Going further, Parnas noted that Iranian oil will now go to China, and said Trump is taking orders from another foreign leader.
"Trump claims he’s tough on China. But he just handed them discounted oil on a silver platter and let Iran resume nuclear development," the ex-operative said. "And if that wasn’t enough, Russian diplomats are now in D.C. — not making deals, but delivering Putin’s demands. Trump isn’t running foreign policy. He’s taking orders."
I’ve written about all this. Time and time again. My friend even joined by substack for a while. But then he would ask questions in the comments that show that he didn’t read anything in the article besides the title.
There was no point explaining it to him. He wasn’t listening. He didn’t take anything I said seriously. He thought I was “brain-washed” by the mainstream media. But I don't blindly or automatically accept what the media says — I question it constantly. I test it by comparing and contrasting. Looking at long-term data provided over time that sometimes changes the context of a report.
Just as much as blindly accepting media reports is wrong — it’s just as wrong to blindly reject them. Evaluating what is genuinely true takes effort and an open mind. You can’t do that if you’re mind is closed. You can’t do it if you don’t have *all* the facts available to you.
Then he said I had “Trump Derangement Syndrome” and that’s when I blew up with him.
At that point he had repeatedly insulted me, he had repeatedly demeaned and ignored what I had to say and now he was calling me mentally “Deranged.”
Fuck that. Fuck him.
It’s an amazing luxury to be able to shove all this into a box called “Politics” and pretend that it doesn’t have an impact on your life. That it doesn’t have an impact on the lives of millions. That those lives don’t matter. That you shouldn’t have any empathy at all for those people simply because you yourself aren’t being personally impacted.
All of this is beyond the pale.
All of this is doing real harm to real people inside our nation and outside.
The mental gymnastics you have to do — the level of denial you have to have — to end up where these people are is just too much. It’s beyond pathological.
And I do know that there are MAGAs who’ve been impacted. I know that they’ve had close relatives detained or even deported. I know that Trump’s tariffs have affected their business, that their farms and restaurants have lost their workers, that some of them have had miscarriages, that some of them have suffered under this man and his policies. And there are more horrors awaiting them. Many more.
But I also know that most of them, even if they’ve been personally harmed, still support him. Most of them are not “sorry” for their vote. Most of them refuse to admit that they were duped, that they made a mistake, or that they were myopic and selfish. Most of them are not embarrased to have this slurring incoherent mendacious boob running our country.
Most of them still like him because he hates the people that they hate.
Us.
I have no sympathy or empathy for any of them until they can admit they were wrong. If the first thing they have to say isn’t “I’m sorry” then fuck ‘em.
Sometimes it’s not only the Sith who has to deal in absolutes.
These people are frankly evil. They have willfully and knowingly perpetrated evil against this nation and this world and they honestly don’t give a shit.
I absolutely will not tolerate it.
Sometimes you have to be the "Asshole” because it’s necessary.
Hi, Frank, Ive not read your writings lately. Could not pass up your headline today. I have had some of the same thoughts about how to feel about not being able to tolerate people I love and care about. Your article is as the previous commenter said, complete, accurate and non biased. Im going to repost hoping to amplify it. It is so real, so what we are feeling right now and we need to know we are all in this together. I do everything I know to do to stop this train before it kills our country. Many days it feels hopeless. Your words strengthen my anger which is the most protective emotion we have. Your words inspire me to get up off the floor and keep pushing even if I don't know if my actions will make any difference. Sometimes it feels that way. Keep up the fight, Frank. We need you.
Your post is exhaustively complete, and it doesn’t exaggerate an iota. The group called MAGA is so destructive to all goodness and reason, that it is close to impossible to describe. You’ve done it well though, and yeah, fuck ‘em. What else can be done? We can only hope for them to come to their senses.
